West Pokot County Receives Ksh 14.8 Million To Facilitate in The Land Processes
The county government of West Pokot has received land registry equipment worth 14.8 million shillings to facilitate in the land processes. The 14.8 million shillings investments have become an advantage to the residents since they would not have to be struggling to travel to other towns to process land title deeds.
Residents have recently been travelling all the way to Kitale and Eldoret to process land title deeds. However, thanks to the latest investment by the European Union, the management of land registry in West Pokot is to undergo complete turn- around. Lands Chief Administrative Secretary Alex Muiru says the automation in the land registry will scale out the processes in the region.
With the ease of acquiring title deeds in the region now, John Lonyangapuo, the governor of the county advises the residents to apply for title deeds as a way of securing the future of their children and the generations to come. He also urges the residents to be careful of how they handle their title deeds saying some of them deposit their land titles in exchange of soft loans and as a result lose parcels of land.
