The event, which brought together female founders and entrepreneurs from a variety of industries, was held on November 15 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Awards' 2023 theme, "See Her Empowered," highlighted the organization's dedication to honoring and assisting young female entrepreneurs who are bringing about change and having an influence on their communities.

Speaking during the event, She Award's visionary, Ms. Ivy Niita affirmed, “At She Awards, we've observed gender bias and gender-based barriers that many female entrepreneurs face. Our mission is to empower women, enabling them to overcome obstacles in various areas, including access to business development support, social capital, and financial services.

“To combat poverty, we need to prioritize women's economic empowerment through increased access to income opportunities. Gender equality is pivotal. Thriving women-owned businesses contribute significantly to community and prosperity, underscoring the interconnected benefits of gender equality and economic empowerment,” she added.
