Over the years, Kenyans have thrived in athletics, beating other world champions and for some races like the Olympic marathon, Kenyans have remained undefeated for decades.

With major honors and medals comes massive wealth. Some of the athletes have invested their wealth in the real estate industry. Those who have high-end properties include:

1. Lornah Kiplagat

Known for her exceptional performance in long-distance races, Lornah has been able to bag numerous gold medals.

She is the owner of the High Altitude Training Centre (HATC), back in her hometown Iten.

The HATC camp has world-class facilities and has hosted stars such as David Rudisha, Mo Farah, and Paula Radcliffe. The camp is truly a “nest” for the excellent training that attracts British athletes for their winter training.

2. Laban Rotich

Rotich is best known for his success at the IAAF Final in 1998 in Johannesburg for his 1,500meters win.

As a tribute to that monumental moment, Rotich constructed a high-end building in Eldoret and called it Johannesburg Plaza.

The facility has a fitness center and a gym.

3. Kipchoge Keino

Keino had a glistening career as an athlete both locally and internationally. Upon his retirement from the tracks, he founded the Kip Keino Sports House in Eldoret. The legend uses that place to motivate and train other upcoming athletes.

4. Moses Tanui

He won twice the Boston Marathon becoming the first man to run the marathon in under one hour.

He built the Grandpri Hotel in Eldoret.

5. Moses Kiptanui

He is a three-time IAAF World Champion as well as the first man to run a 3000meters steeplechase in under eight minutes.

Moses established Utamaduni House in Eldoret upon his retirement. Furthermore, he founded the Komora Centre and Komora Estate in Eldoret and Nairobi.

As athletes continue flying the Kenyan flag higher in athletics global events, real estate will continue to grow exponentially in Eldoret and Kenya at large.
