The University of Nairobi Enterprises & Services (UNES) in collaboration with the US Africa Opportunity Network (USAFON), is offering Real Estate Sales Agents and Estate Agents (Real Estate Brokers) market-based courses. The courses are designed to fit the local and diaspora market needs.

USAFON is a member of the Center for Global Trade and Foreign Investment, based in Los Angeles, California, that connects qualified investors to opportunities in Africa and also aligns the investment environment to meet the demand of prospective investors. USAFON has consulted with the Ugandan Government, Equity Bank, Kenya Commercial Bank, and the National Bank of Kenya regarding diaspora investments in real estate.

This is a revolutionary move, as the introduction of the courses is the first of its kind in East and Central Africa. The introduction of these courses at a top African university would be a significant step towards meeting the industry's requirements and fostering professional growth.

In a press release statement, signed by Seith Abeka, Managing Director and CEO of the University of Nairobi Enterprises and Services, “The trainers [will be] drawn from the University of Nairobi, the Department of Real Estate, Construction Management and Quality Survey, and other experts who have been training real estate professionals in the States of California, Nevada, and Arizona.”

Mr. Abeka further affirmed that the courses will produce trained Estate Sales Agents and Estate Agents (Real Estate Brokers) with world-class skills to represent buyers and sellers of real estate in the marketplace.

“The courses will equip students with knowledge of land use, laws relevant to real estate, real estate transactions, and practice. These courses will position graduates to work confidently with property owners and investors (especially Kenyans in the diaspora and other foreign investors),” he asserted.

In addition, graduates of these courses will have the opportunity to attend the annual National Association of Realtors events in the US through UNES’ partnership with USAFON. The event is an important forum for them to network with peers from across the world as well as interact with American investors. The event happens in different cities across the US.
