Alex Mwakideu's Pampered Village In Kitengela

If you are a resident of Kitengela and its environs or you happen to pass by, Pampered Village is a stopover worth your while. It is located along Acacia Road behind Ola Petrol Station in Kitengela. This is also a new favorite for people who love Swahili dishes. The restaurant serves pilau, biriani, mahamri, shawarma, coconut fish, chapatti, arosto among other dishes.

Interesting to note is that Pampered Village is owned by veteran radio presenter Alex Mwakideu formerly of Radio Maisha and currently working with the Media Max Limited owned Milele FM.

Mwakideu started off with a car wash; Pampered Rides Car Wash and later expanded to the eatery business, with plans to expand further.

Mwakideu says that his restaurant serves authentic Swahili dishes as he even went to the extent of sourcing a Chef from Mariakani.

Pampered Village will not serve alcoholic beverages and smoking is not allowed as he wants an environment that is family-friendly.

Mwakideu also noted that they only admit up to the capacity the restaurant can hold to avoid overcrowding. Deliveries are done around Kitengela, and all you need to do is call their customer line on 0727616161.

On what prompted him to venture into this business, Mwakideu stated that Nairobi requires survival skills. With the covid- 19 pandemic affecting him financially after a pay cut he had to find other means of staying afloat.

‘Utamu mdomoni, raha moyoni, shibe tumboni, pesa mfukoni’, the excited Mwakideu commented during an interview with his longtime friend Jalang’o.

 Jalang’o congratulated him for the milestone saying he is always proud of his friend.
