1. Cleaning the Surface before Painting

This is a very important tip that most people ignore. They get lured to painting underneath the surface as this seems easy. It can be easy to do so but there are consequences that can be seen soon after. It can peel off soon after it has been painted. Dirt and damp walls are known to even shorten the life of high-quality paint and so one is advised to clean the surface before painting At least take your time to carefully prepare your wall.

2 . Painting of Edges first

This is an expert's secret that always leads to a perfect paint job. One first starts to paint the edges and all the corners before working on the wall surface. This will make your work easier as you will only tape the edges area rather than the whole wall surface. Also, one is advised to dip only a quarter of the brush into the can to avoid spillage and messy hands.

3.Cutting the Masking Tape to Loosen it

Masking tape is also known as painter's tape and there are a variety of sizes and widths. Its main use in painting is to mask off areas that do not require painting. The tape is carefully and gently removed to avoid damaging the surface. One is advised to never pull the masking tape before the paint has dried as it can come out with the paint making you have a repaint job again. Leave the paint to fully dry and then cut the tape slowly.

4. Mixing Paints to come up with an Unvarying Colour

There are different shades of the same colour and one can get confused over one and so one is advised to mix the paints and come up with a uniform colour. One is required to stir it as much as possible before and during painting. This will bring consistency of the colour and also one is advised to pour paint they are using to a different container to avoid contaminating the whole paint with dust and dirt from the surface being painted and do not leave the paint in the can open as it dries faster.

5 . Choosing Quality Paints and Proper Tools

One cannot expect a great job when they haven't checked on the quality of their paint and tools. High-quality paints, brushes and rollers can be costly but they always lead to a perfect paint job. Ensure you take care of your tools and always choose quality over quantity. Also, paintbrushes with holes on their handles are recommended as they allow the brush to hang and drip excess water out of it.
