The Global Trade Centre: East Africa's Tallest Work of Art Officially Opened
The Global Trade Centre was recently officially opened following the completion of the development in 2021.
The Global Trade Centre, situated in Westlands next to Waiyaki Way and Forest Road, prides itself in being East Africa’s tallest building.
It is a soaring commercial centre that houses multinational cooperation and stands at 184.0m.
The Ksh40 billion property whose construction began in July 2015, is owned by the Chinese Firm Avic International Real Estate.
It is an ultra-premium project pegged on the HOPSCA concept for architectural design and is the first of its kind in East Africa. HOPSCA to mean (hotel, office, parking, shopping, convention, apartment).
The project in itself is an urban complex project that integrates luxury hotels, super high-rise office buildings, high end executive apartments and a mall. Its features include:

Standing at 184 metres with 42 floors, the GTC office towers is simply a work of pure ingenious. Equipped with 11 high-speed lifts, the towers would be perfect candidates for various multinational and Fortune Global 500 companies.
The JW Marriot Hotel
It is East Africa’s newest luxury 5-star hotel. It boasts ample facilities including seven conference rooms, 317 guestrooms, 51 serviced apartments and a 800 sq. m grand ballroom for events.
GTC Executive apartments
According to the official website, the apartments are developed for global citizens and they feature four apartment towers with a range of units from 1- bedroom to 4- bedroom penthouse. It also includes rooftop garden and other amenities such as pools, gym etc.
GTC Boutique mall
The mall caters to the urban upper class needs and consists of an independent four storey retail. The commercial sectors provided by the mall include a boutique supermarket, banks, catering services, healthcare and daily services.
The GTC is truly a work of art and a very important landmark. It will not only redefine Nairobi’s skyline, further marking the city’s and the country’s position as an economic giant, but it will also be the latest tourist attraction, generating even more income for the country.
