The kind of details and strokes you want in your painting is determined by the choice of your brush. Here are the different types of paint brushes and their uses.
1. A wash brush
It is the biggest of them all. It has a square end and medium to long hairs. It is mainly used for varnishing because it gives the maximum coverage smoothly and quickly because it is thicker than any other brushes. The edge of a wash brush can be used to create straight edges and stripes.
2. Flat brush
It is a small version of the wash brush. It has bristles with slightly round edges and slightly thick but not so much like the wash brush. It is used when you want a lot of paint coverage and the surface you are painting is small for a wash brush. It's easy to spread it.
3. Liner brush
It is also a thin brush with very long bristles. It is also known as a rigger brush. It's too can be flat or square and when it is angled, it is called a sword brush. It comes in very handy when you want to create very fine and thin lines. Its small tip enables it to be used to write letters and numbers. Most artists use this brush to sign their work.

It looks like a fan. It is flat and has spread hairs. It is used to paint nature elements and landscapes .it can also be used to blend backgrounds or add highlights to darker areas. A fair brush with natural hairs is great for smoothing, blending, and feathering while one with synthetic hairs is great for textural effects.

It is like a pencil.it gives one more narrow control over the flow of paint. It can mainly be of two different types. One is the simple round brush that allows one to paint fine lines and details while the other will be narrower with a sharp-pointed tip to paint fine lines and details in delicate areas.
