Uganda Road, Eldoret's Only Highway Street

It is fascinating how the home of champions up to this era has only one highway street.

I was listening to a community radio around Eldoret, and one thing that was trending was the fact that all of the business adverts were stating their location along the Uganda road. I was not into listening more of the content but I was tuned for another two hours trying to find any other advert with a different street location. I did not hear of any other street in the town. Nevertheless,  my reasearch has also approved that there is only one highway street in the region, and that is Uganda road.

Eldoret town commonly known as the home of champions, is a principal town in the Rift Valley serving as the capital of Uasin Gishu county and also the fifth most populated urban area in Kenya as per the 2019 census.

Uganda road, a Nairobi Kampala highway passing through the town, is also one of the major reasons for the development of the town. It goes way back to the 20th century, history of the white colonials in town, with the construction of a white post office on a site known as 64. It was exactly 64 miles from the newly constructed Uganda railway railhead, located at Kibigori. The site was later renamed Eldoret and it was a huge arrival of Europeans and Asians due to its climate and agriculture as the economy's stronghold.
